Riku: I can't believe I just ran off on Renae like that. What was I thinking? *notices many shops closed* What time is it anyway? *pulls out his phone and checks the time* Dang, it's almost midnight. I guess I'll grab a quick bite and head home. Drug store should be open at least. *goes into Aohige Pharmacy and grabs a bean pastry from the shelf*

_{Dark Hour}

Riku: What the? What happened to the lights? They don't close at Midnight *goes over to the counter* Excuse me, I- *sees a coffin behind the check out counter* Wh- what the heck?! *drops the bean pastry and runs out the store* The street lights are out too, what's going here?! *runs to the Police Box* The police, maybe- *looks inside and sees more coffins* No way... *runs to the entrance of Polownia Mall and runs into someone* Ow, what the-

Shinjiro: Hey, watch where you're going

Riku: Y-you're here too? Oh man, you're not gonna believe what just happened

Shinjiro: Let me guess, the lights just turned out around you and everyone turned into a coffin?

Riku: H-how did you-

Shinjiro: I'll explain latter. For now, why don't you come with me.

Risa: Good morning Karen

Karen: Good morning Risa

Risa: I have a message for you from Shinjiro. He asked me to make sure you came back to the dorm first thing after school today

Karen: Oh, OK then

Risa: Well, I will see you after school then

Karen: Right

Ms. Toriumi: Open your textbooks and we'll take a look at the first nove; by... Zanaou Kasai. Ugh.. why him? I'd rather teach Utsubo Kubota. He became famous as a singer, but he's also produced fine literature. I wonder why it's not in the textbook. Well, I'll just bring Kubota's book next time. *glares at the boy siting beind Karen* Hey, Shan! Were you listening?

Shan: Huh?

Ms. Toriumi: Who did I say was my favorite author?

Shan: U-ummm... *tries to get Karen's attention* Psst! Who dose she like?

Karen: *whispers to Shan* Pay attention next time. It's Utsubo Kubota

Shan: *to Ms Toriumi* Utsubo Kubota?

Ms. Toriumi: That's right! So you were listening to me after all!

Shan: Eheheh... Well, you know how I like to pay attention!

Karen: *sweatdrop*

Classmate: *whispers to his partner* Karen gave him the answer... She's a pretty nice girl!

Shan: *goes over to Karen* Hey, thanks for your help in class today

Karen: You might want to pay better attention next time

Shan: Yea, I had a feeling you might say something like that. Anyway, I'm Shan Ishimaru, it's nice to meet you

Karen: N-nice to meet you too. Is it me, or dose something about him seem rather off?

Renae: *avoids eye contact with Shan*

Shan: Hey, if you're not doing anything after school, maybe you'd wanna grab a bite at the Chagall Cafe?

Karen: S-sorry but... I have something I'm supposed to do after school

Shan: I guess that can't be helped *looks Renae expectantly* How 'bout you Re-Re chi?

Riku: *glares at Shan*

Renae: H-heh? Uh- I'm sorry, but... I have something I n-need to do too

Shan: Ehehehe, shot down again. Well, I guess I'll just have to settle for a date with my TV tonight. See ya *leaves*

Karen: "Re-Re chi"? Is he a friend of yours Renae?

Renae: N-not exactly...

Karen: *confused*

Renae: S-so, you said you already have plans for tonight?

Karen: Yea

Renae: What about you Riku?

Riku: Me too, in fact I should be leaving soon

Renae: Oh, I see...Then, what about tomorrow?

Riku: Yea, I guess I could do something with you tomorrow

Renae: *smiles* Great! What about you Karen?

Karen: Sure

Riku: *glares at Karen while Renae isn't looking* Well, I should get going

Renae: Alright, I guess I'll see you tomorrow Riku

Riku: Yea, you too *leaves*

Karen: You've got plans for tonight too, right Renae?

Renae: Huh? Oh, yes, I do.

Karen: Then, I'll see you tomorrow

Karen: *leaves*

Risa: Welcome back

Karen: Hi Risa. Where's Sanada san?

Risa: He should be here pretty soon. I think he said he had to pick something up

Karen: Huh?

Shinjiro: *comes in* Good, you're here

Karen: What's all this about?

Shinjiro: Simply put, there's someone I want to introduce you to. I want you to meet the newest addition to our team

Karen: Huh?

Shinjiro: Hey, hurry up already

Riku: I'm coming *comes in with a suitcase*

Karen: HIM?!

Riku: Hm? *sees Karen* Why is she here?!

Shinjiro: I take it you know each other?

Riku: Unfortunately

Karen: Why you jerk!

Shinjiro: Hey, take it easy!

Karen: ...

Riku: ...

Shinjiro: I don't know what's going on here, but I won't have fighting on this team

Karen: I understand Sanada san

Riku: So do I

Shinjiro: Good. Now, on to more important things

Risa: *thinks she knows what Shinjiro means* Oh yes, of course

Shinjiro: With this many people, I'd say it's time to start exploring that place

Riku: "That place"?

Shinjiro: It's called Tarterus. We're hoping it'll shed some light on what's been happening

Karen: Tarterus? Where is this place?

Shinjiro: You'll see. I have to talk to my mother and the chairman first, but we should be able to go tomorrow night

Karen: Ok?

Riku: I'll be there

Shinjiro: Right. Make sure you get a good night's sleep tonight

Karen: Right

Shinjiro: Well Riku, I'll show you to your room

Karen: Wait he is going to be living here?!!!

Shinjiro: Of course. It's necisary that we all be in the same place for our missions

Karen: I see...

Shinjiro: *takes Riku up to his room on the second floor*

Risa: I see you do not like Karu san

Karen: I dislike him very much *glares at the image of Riku in her head* I'm gonna go on to bed. Night Risa

Dark Hour

Mysterious Boy: *appears out of nowhere sitting on Karen's bed* Hi, how are you?

Karen: *surprised* Wh-what the-

Mysterious Boy: *chuckles*

Karen: How did you get in here?!

Mysterious Boy: I'm always with you. Soon, the end will come. I remembered, so I thought I should tell you.

Karen: The end?

Mysterious Boy: The end of everything. But to be honest, I don't really know what it is. *stands up* Oh, looks like you've awakened to your power... and an unusual power it is. A power that takes many forms, yet is bound by none

Karen: What are you talking about?

Mysterious Boy: *just smiles at Karen* It may prove to be your salvation, depending on where you end up. Do you remember when we first met? I expect you to honor your commitment.

Karen: What?

Mysterious Boy: I'll be watching you, even if you forget about me. OK then, see you latter *disappears*

Karen: Just when I think things can't get any stranger...

_Morning

Riku: I can't believe I have to stay in the same dorm as you

Karen: Well I don't know how Renae puts up with you

Riku: Why you little-

Shinjiro: *comes up behind them* I see you two are getting along well

Karen: ...

Shinjiro: Just a heads up, don't make any plans for after school today. There's something I need to show you both before we go to Tartarus tonight

Karen: But I already made plans for after school today, yesterday

Riku: Me too

Shinjiro: This is important. Unless you want to go into battle empty handed, I suggest you cancel your plans

Karen: I don't want to but if I have to, I will tell Renae-Chan

Shinjiro: Think of it this way. Even though you're canceling your plans, you're making new plans to protect her from the Shadows

Karen: I guess that is true

Riku: If it's to protect Renae, I'll do anything!

Shinjiro: Meet me at the gates after school

Karen: OK

Riku: Alright

Shinjiro: *leaves*

Karen: *sigh* This won't be easy...

Riku: Renae's going to be really disappointed

Karen: *nods*

Renae: *more energetic than usual* Good morning

Riku: Morning...

Karen: Renae! *runs over to Renae* You'll never believe it, but by some strange twist of fate Riku has been transferred to the Co-Ed dorm

Renae: R-really? That's great!

Karen and Riku: It is?

Renae: Of course! I just knew you two would be good friends, and living in the same place will help your friendship grow even more

Karen and Riku: *sweatdrop*

Renae: Anyway, I'm really looking forward to tonight. I figure we can hit up B Blue V first, and then maybe head over to the antique shop after that, and then we can grab a bite to eat at Changall Cafe, and then-

Karen: Renae I am afraid I can't go out after school today. I have to meet up with Sanada san after school to do something very important

Renae: O-oh... Well- that's OK, Riku and I can just-

Riku: I can't either, I have something important to do all of a sudden as well

Renae: O-oh... I see... *looks down in disappointment*

Karen: I'm sorry Renae

Renae: -No, it's alright, I understand

Riku: I'm sorry too

Renae: *smiles* I said it's alright

Riku: I know but still...

Renae: Don't worry about me, I'll be fine

Riku: Alright...

Renae: We can just do all that stuff tomorrow

Karen: Sure

Riku: I promise I'll make this up to you Renae

Renae: *smiles at Riku* I said it's fine

Riku: ...

Riku: I still can't believe I did that

Karen: But Renae said it was fine

Riku: *glares into the distance* And that's why I can't stand people like you

Karen: What was that?!

Shinjiro: *waiting for them by the game* Hey

Karen: Oh, hi Sanada san

Riku: Hey...

Shinjiro: *sigh* They're still going at it, it seems. Well, let's go

*Polownia Mall*

Karen: Why did you bring us here?

Shinjiro: I'll show you *takes them to the Police Box*

Riku: Here?

Shinjiro: There's someone here I want you to meet *goes inside with Riku and Karen* Detective Kurosawa, you hear?

Kurosawa: Yea, I'm here. These the guys you were telling me about?

Shinjiro: This is them

Karen: *bows* Hello I am Karen Suzuki, it's nice to meet you

Riku: I'm Riku Karu, hi

Kurosawa: So what do you two need

Karen: Actually to tell you the true we aren't sure Sanada san just sort of brought us here

Kurosawa: Weapons, what weapons do you use?

Karen: Weapons? I don't understand

Shinjiro: This is Detective Kurosawa. He's a plain clothes detective, but he's been working on a case here in Port Island and he helps keep our squad well equiped. Riku, you're in Kendo right?

Riku: Yea

Shinjiro: So... give him a Katana, and for her... What do you want Suzuki, sword, bow and arrow, knife?

Karen: B-bow and arrow please

Kurosawa: Here ya go *hands them a Katana and a Bow and Arrow set*

Karen: Thank you

Riku: Thanks

Kurosawa: If you need anything else, you can find me here during the day. I'm out working on my case at night though, so don't bother then

Karen: OK

Shinjiro: Thanks again Kurosawa san

Kurosawa: You kids be careful fighting those monsters

Karen: We will

Shinjiro: *leaves with Karen and Riku* Alright, we'll go back to the dorm, and then head back out again at 11:00


**Dorm**

_Evening

Shinjiro: Alright, it's 11:00 now. We should get going

Karen: Right *gets ready to leave with the others*

Mitsuru: *comes through the door just as they're about to leave*

Shinjiro: Mother? What are you doing here?

Mitsuru: I came here to discuss a few things before you go to Tarterus

Karen: Discuss a few things?

Mitsuru: First of all, we need to decide the leader. It's important to have a leader to give directions and make decisions for the group

Karen: Isn't Sanada san the leader?

Mitsuru: Actually, I had someone else in mind as Leader

Shinjiro: What?!

Mitsuru: Suzuki san, I would like you to lead the team

Karen: Me? Why me?

Mitsuru: While Shinjiro has more experience in battle, he has a tendency of thinking more with his fists than his head. You however seem to be rather levelheaded, and unlike Karu san, you have already been able to summon your Persona flawlessly

Karen: I see, thank you Mrs. Sanada

Shinjiro: *not happy with the decision*

Riku: I can't believe I am going to listen to what she says

Mitsuru: Well, you should get going. The Dark Hour is approaching

Karen: Right *leaves with Shinjiro, Riku, and Risa*

Shinjiro: *takes them to the gates of Gekkoukan High*

Karen: The school?

Shinjiro: Yep, this is the place *checks the time on his phone* And it looks like we're just in time

_{Dark Hour}

*As the Dark Hour hits, Gekkoukan High morphs into a giant green tower*

Karen: That is Tartarus?!

Shinjiro: Yep

Riku: What the heck happened to our school?!

Karen: It is very creepy looking

Shinjiro: Well, we didn't come here to stare at it. Let's go inside


**Tartarus Entrance**

Karen: *sees a blue door to the left of the room* What is that door?

Shinjiro: What door?

Karen: That blue one

Shinjiro: ... What blue one?

Karen; You can't see it?

Riku: There's nothing over there

Karen: But... *Velvet Key in her pocked starts glowing* Huh? *takes the key out of her pocket*

**Velvet Room**

Igor: I've been waiting for you. The time has come for you to wield your power. The tower that you are about to venture into... How did it come to be? For what purpose dose it exist? Regrettably, you are not yet capable of answering these questions. That is why, you must be made aware of the nature of your power

Karen: What on earth are you talking about?

Igor: Your power is unique. It's like the number zero. It's empty, but at the same time holds infinite possibilities. You my dear, are able to posses multiple Personas, and summon them as needed. And as you develop your Social Links, you will be able to reap the seeds you have sewn

Karen: I don't understand what you mean

Igor: You will understand soon enough. Your power will grow accordingly... be sure to keep that in mind. My spare time will soon be scarce, but please, come again at your own accord. I'll tell you then about my true role, the manor in which I can best assist you

Karen: Huh? I'm still confused

Igor: It will all make sense soon enough. Until then, farewell


**Tartarus Entrance**

Karen: That was so odd

Shinjiro: Earth to Suzuki

Karen: Huh?

Shinjiro: Will you quit spacing out already? Let's go

Karen: R-right

Shinjiro: ... *under his breath* And mother wants her to be the leader


**Thebel Block: 2nd Floor**

Shinjiro: Risa, you there?

Risa: Yes, I can hear you

Shinjiro: Alright, looks like we're ready to go

Risa: Be careful you three

Karen: *goes ahead with the others*

Risa: Get ready, there's a Shadow up ahead

Shinjiro: Oh yea, I've been waiting for this

Riku: I hope I can have some fun while beating this shadow

Shinjiro: Where is it Risa?

Risa: Up ahead a bit and to the right

Shinjiro: *follows Risa's directions with Karen and Riku* Heh, there it is

Riku: Let's get rid of that thing

Risa: I am analyzing the shadow right now

Shinjiro: What ch'ya got Risa?

Risa: This shadow is weak against slash attacks and fire attacks

Shadow: *uses Bufu on Shinjiro*

Shinjiro: *dodges*

Riku: What the heck did it just do?

Shinjiro: That's an ice attack, called Bufu

Risa: Please be careful!

Shinjiro: If either of you wants to step in with Agi, now would be the time to do it

Karen: *pulls out her Evoker* Orpheus!

Orpheus: *comes out and uses Agi on the Shadow*

Karen: Orpheus hit it again!

Orpheus: *hits the Shadow again with Agi*

Shadow: *disappears*

Karen: I wonder how many more there are around here

Shinjiro: The way my father described it, millions. *grins* Makes it the perfect place to train, don't ch'ya think?

Riku: Sure dose

Karen: *sweatdrops*

Shinjiro: Got anything else for us Risa?

Risa: There is another Shadow up ahead in the left corner

Shinjiro: *follows Risa's directions with Karen and Riku*

Riku: There it is

Shinjiro: And it's the same type too. Riku, try using your sword, it's weak against slash attacks

Riku: *uses his Katana on the Shadow and destroys it* Very nice

Shinjiro: Hey Leader, why don't you try leading for a change

Karen: Riku-Kun, Shinjiro-Kun look out!

*four more shadows appear and attack Shinjiro and Riku*

Karen: Shinjiro-Kun! Riku-Kun!

Shinjiro: *punches one of the shadows*

Riku: *slashes his Katana at one of the shadows*

Shinjiro: *pulls out his Evoker* Zephiro! *uses Cleave on a shadow and defeats it*

Karen: *hits the last shadow with an arrow* Are you both OK?! *suddenly spaces out again*

Voice: Hee-ho! That looks like fun!

Karen: What the? *sees a white fairly like Persona in her mind*

Voice: You seem cool, hee-ho! I wouldn't mind having a hee-ho master like you! I'm Jack Frost hee-ho! Nice to meet ya!

Karen: Huh?

Shinjiro: Are you gonna be like that all night?

Karen: *is brought back by Shinjiro's voice* H-huh? What?

Shinjiro: Leader or not, we're leaving you behind if you don't hurry up

Karen: R-right! *catches up to Shinjiro and Riku* What just happened back there?

Shinjiro: Geeze, what about her dose Mother think is leader material anyway? I've got the most combat experience, and she's hardly doing anything to help out

Risa: Everyone be careful there is another Shadow just around the corner

Riku: This is going to be fun

Shinjiro: Looks like a different one. What's the verdict Risa?

Risa: This one is weak against Ice and Lighting attacks

Shinjiro: Heh, perfect. Leave this one to me. Persona! *summons Zephiro and uses Zio*

Karen: Oh wow!

Riku: Nice!

Shinjiro: OK, let's get going-

*another shadow appears and uses Garu on Shinjiro*

Shinjiro: Ungh! *gets knocked down*

Karen: Sanada san!

Risa: Please watch out for Shinjiro, his Persona is weak against wind!

Jack Frost's Voice: Hee-ho! It's show time!

Karen: Huh?

Shadow: *closes in on Shinjiro*

Karen: Persona! *summons Jack Frost* Wh-what?

Riku: Where did that come from?!

Shinjiro: Th-that power... it can't be

Karen: Jack Frost!

Jack Frost: *uses Bufu on the Shadow and defeats it*

Karen: *goes over to Shinjiro* Are you OK Sanada san?

Jack Frost: *uses Dia on Shinjiro before disappearing*

Riku: *helps Shinjiro up* What was that?

Shinjiro: Suzuki, how did you do that?

Karen: I-I don't know. I heard this voice, and then when I summoned my Persona, that white fairy appeared. I think it said his name was Jack Frost

Shinjiro: That power... The power to switch Personas during battle... I've heard of it, but I didn't think it really existed

Riku: So, her power is unique?

Karen: That's right... That man, Igor said the same thing

Shinjiro: We should head back for now. I need to report this to my mother

Karen: OK *heads back with Shinjiro and Riku* Sanada san, are you sure you're OK?

Shinjiro: Yea. That skill you just used is called Dia, and it has the power to heal

Karen: *smiles* I'm glad you're OK

Shinjiro: ...

Karen: *seems really happy*

Shinjiro: What's got you all happy?

Karen: I'm happy because you're not hurt

Shinjiro: Just cuz of something like that?

Karen: You're my friend Sanada san, so I am happy you aren't hurt

Shinjiro: *looks ahead rather than at Karen*

**Tartarus Entrance**

Risa: I'm glad you are all safe

Karen: I am so tired

Riku: I'm kinda tired too

Shinjiro: It's cuz you're still not used to the Dark Hour yet. Let's go back to the dorm and get some rest

Karen: Good idea. Today was really crazy too. I can't believe our school turned into this giant tower. I still don't know how I summoned that other Persona, Jack Frost. I wonder... could this be my power that Igor told me about. That boy mentioned something about it too. Who are they? What the heck is going on here? Well, I guess worrying about it won't do any good for now. I should just go back and get some rest like Sanada san said.
